Walker Components Alloy Thermostat Fan Switch Adapter – 38mm
 
High-quality alloy adapter designed to install a HELLA thermostat fan switch into your cooling system, providing a reliable upgrade from older fan control setups.
 
Compatibility
 
- Suits 38mm radiator hoses.
- Most Land Rover top hoses are 38mm.
- 35mm hoses can also be used, as the hose clamps provide sufficient adjustment.
 
Installation
 
1. Remove a suitable section from the top radiator hose.
2. Insert the alloy adapter into the hose.
3. Secure with the supplied hose clamps.
4. Connect the HELLA fan switch to an appropriate relay.
 
HELLA Fan Switch Specifications
 
- Fixed temperature operation (non-adjustable).
- Fan ON: 92°C
- Fan OFF: 87°C
 
Switch Wiring
 
The switch features two spade terminals:
 
- One terminal connects to earth.
- The second terminal provides a switched earth signal to trigger the fan relay.
 
Important: Position the sensor so the wiring terminals face either downward or sideways. This ensures coolant remains in contact with the sensor element for accurate temperature sensing. Incorrect positioning may prevent proper operation.
 
Relay Wiring Guide
 
- Pin 30 – Fused 12V power supply
- Pin 87 – Positive connection to electric cooling fan
- Pin 85 – Switched earth output from thermostat switch
- Pin 86 – Ignition-switched positive feed (prevents the fan from running with the ignition switched off)
